Manual gearbox: Removal - Refitting
K9K, and TL4
a Refit the new differential output seals (see 21A,
Manual gearbox, Differential output seal: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 21A-6) .

Note:
T o fit the tool on the new gearbox, follow the
same steps as for the removal operation.
a Fit the new manual gearbox on the (Bvi. 1718).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Position the manual gearbox using the component
jack and tool (Bvi. 1718).
a Refit the manual gearbox studs.
a Torque tighten the manual gearbox studs (7 N.m).
a Refit the manual gearbox nuts.
a Torque tighten the nuts on the manual gearbox
(44 N.m).
a Remove tool (Bvi. 1718) :
- from the manual gearbox,
- of the component jack.
a Refit the lower bolts on the manual gearbox.
a Torque tighten the lower bolts on the manual
gearbox (44 N.m).
a Refit:
- the catalytic converter downstream strut,

- the bolts on the catalytic converter downstream
strut,
- the catalytic converter downstream strut nut.
a Tighten:
- the bolts on the catalytic converter downstream
strut,
- the catalytic converter downstream strut nut.
a Clip the drain pipe of the rail protector on the manual
gearbox.

Note:
Refit the earth terminal, aligning the indelible
marks on the gearbox casing.
When reassembling, improper positioning of the
earth terminal on the gearbox casing could result
in damage to the earth terminal or ear th wiring.
a The earth wiring must be refit as shown in the illus-
tration.
a Refit the earth wiring bolt (30) to the manual gear-
box.
a Tighten the earth wiring bolt (30) on the manual
gearbox.
a Clip the wiring of the power-assisted steering pump
on the manual gearbox.
a Refit the wiring bracket bolt of the power-assisted
steering pump on the manual gearbox.
a Tighten the wiring bracket bolt of the power-assisted
steering pump on the manual gearbox.
