Injector rail protector: Removal - Refitting

a Clean the fuel return pipe unions (see 13B, Diesel
injection, Diesel injection: Precautions for the
repair, page 13B-1) .
a Disconnect the fuel return pipe union (2) on the die-
sel injector fuel return rail.
a Fit blanking plugs on the fuel return pipe union on
the diesel injector fuel return rail.
a Disconnect the fuel return pipe union (3) on the in-
jector rail.
a Fit blanking plugs on the fuel return pipe union on
the injector rail.
a Disconnect the diesel injector connectors (4) .
a Move aside the diesel injector wiring.

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Unclip the vacuum pipe from the rail protector at (5) .
a Remove:
- the bolts (6) of the front row injector rail protector,
- the front row injector rail protector,
- the seal of the front row injector rail protector.
REFITTING THE FRONT ROW INJECTOR
RAIL PROTECTOR
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace the seal of the front row injector rail
protector.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- a new seal of the front row injector rail protector,
- the front row injector rail protector.
a Clip the vacuum pipe onto the injector rail protector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Position the diesel injector wiring.
a Connect the diesel injector connectors.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
