Exhaust gas recirculation solenoid valve: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746 or 748
a Remove:
- the bolts (4) from the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe between the intercooler and the EGR solenoid
valve,
- the exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe between
the intercooler and the EGR solenoid valve.

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect the connector (5) from the EGR solenoid
valve.
a Remove:
- the EGR solenoid valve strut (6) ,
- the EGR solenoid valve,
- the EGR solenoid valve seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Clean the EGR solenoid valve (only the mechanical
part) using a parts washer (see Exhaust gas recir-
culation solenoid valve: Cleaning) .
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (MR 415, 04B,
Consumables - Products) to clean and degrease the
EGR solenoid valve pressure faces.
a Parts always to be replaced:
- the EGR solenoid valve seals,
- the seals on the exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe
between the intercooler and the EGR solenoid
valve,
- the seals on the intercooler air inlet pipe.
