QUEST Character Verification
STEP 4: Slender Characters

The frame size of the extracted characters is checked during QUEST charac-
ter verification and if the horizontal to vertical aspect ratio is greater than the
set value, the verification will be performed using the "1", "I", "J", ":", and "/" dic-
tionary models only.
If the font itself is slender, characters other than those listed above may be
above the set aspect ratio and verification will not, therefore, be performed cor-
rectly. Set this value, the guide for the aspect ratio, to a higher value for slender
fonts.

The Slender Character Settings Screen will be displayed.

The settings will be registered and the screen in (1.) will return.

At the default aspect ratio setting of 3.0, the
slender character shown to the left will not be
verified against the "2" in the dictionary model.
Set the aspect ratio to a value higher than 4.
