Packet Tab

Packet Tab Overview

The Packet tab provides high speed packet-level testing over a wide-range of datacom
rates supported by a variety of MPA test modules, including the MPM-10G, MPM-100G,
MPM-100AR and MPM-400G card types.
Depending on the test modules in your MPA system, LAN/WAN Ethernet Interface
rates can range from 10 Mbps up to 400 Gbps, and Fibre Channel rates can range
from 1 Gbps up to 32 Gbps, as well as Ethernet and Fibre Channels packets
multiplexed into SONET, SDH and OTN interfaces and GFP payload packets
encapsulated in SONET, SDH and OTN interfaces.
The MPM-10G's Packet tab can be used for testing from 10Mbps up to 10Gbps
Ethernet Interfaces, as well as 1/2/4/8/10Gbps Fibre Channel rates, with support
for two independently configured pluggable SFP/SFP+ laser modules.
The MPM-100G's Packet tab can be used for testing 40Gbps and 100Gbps
Ethernet Interfaces, with support for pluggable CFP-4, QSFP28 and QSFP+ laser
modules.
The MPM-100AR's Packet tab can be used for testing 10Gbps, 25Gbps, 40Gbps
and 100Gbps Optical Ethernet Interfaces, as well as 10/16/32Gbps Fibre
Channel rates, with support for pluggable QSFP28, QSFP+, and two SFP+ laser
modules.
The MPM-400G's Packet tab is used for testing 400Gbps Ethernet Interface, with
support for pluggable CFP8 laser modules.
From the Packet tab, users can perform BERT testing on up to 32 independently
configured packet streams for traffic generation and analysis, including RFC-2544
(throughput, frame loss, latency, and Back to Back Burst) testing, ITU-T Y.1564
