in the OTN Specific Tasks section of this chapter.
The following options are available on the OTN Errors and Alarms screen.
Option
Error to Insert
Description
Allows the user to select an error that is transmitted by the OTN
signal.
Selecting the Error to Insert button opens the Select Error
Insert list.
Depending on the selected Mapping, the following error types
are available:
•
FEC:UNCOR, FEC:COR, FRAME, MFAS, OTU:BIP8,
OTU:BEI, ODU:BIP8, ODU:BEI, OPU:OMFI, OPU:C640
CRC8, OPU:C8 CRC8, BIT, TCM1:BIP8 – TCM6:BIP8,
and TCM1:BEI – TCM6:BEI
•
(Note that FEC Correctable & Uncorrectable errors are
inserted after the FEC wrapper is created.)
When testing Add/Drop mappings, then the following A/D ODU-
j error types are available:
•
FRAME, MFAS, ODU:BIP8, ODU:BEI, BIT, TCM1:BIP8
– TCM6:BIP8, and TCM1:BEI – TCM6:BEI
When testing OTUCn
type is available:
•
OTUCN SYNC FRAME
When more errors are available than can fit on the first menu
page, then select More to open the next menu page of Errors to
Insert.
•
The last menu page includes a list of Alarms to Burst.
Select an Alarm to burst (like error insertion), and then
configure the Burst settings below.
