GFP Mappings for OTN
The OTN Protocol Processor can be configured for GFP mappings (Complying with
ITU-T G.7041)
Both OTU-1 and OTU-2 interface rates can be mapped for GFP.
For OTU-1, select G.709 2.5G (2.666GHz) from the Interface menu, then select
GFP from the Mapping menu. For GFP-Bulk mode, the max data-rate at 100%
BW is 2.488320 GHz.
For OTU-2, select G.709 10G (10.709GHz) from the Interface menu, then select
GFP from the Mapping menu. For GFP-Bulk mode, the max data-rate at 100%
BW is 9.995277 GHz.
For ODU-1 multiplexed up to OTU-2, select G.709 10G (10.709GHz) from the
Interface menu, then select
from the ODU-1 Mapping menu. For GFP-Bulk mode, the max data-rate at
100% BW is 2.488320 GHz.
Select the
Packet tab
one, or to up to 32 independent GFP test streams.
For GFP-Transparent mode the maximum data rate is limited to 1 Gbps
10GigE FEC (11.049G/11.095G) over OTU-2
The OTN Protocol Processor can be configured so that 802.3 10G Ethernet LAN
streams can be transported over OTU-2 (G.709 compliant) infrastructures. Two
different frequency rates are offered, 11.049G and 11.095G
Use the Interface menu in the OTN tab to select either of the following rates.
OTU1e (11.049G) - Provides 11.049 Gigabit Ethernet LAN testing over OTU-2
OTU2e (11.095G) - Provides 11.095 Gigabit Ethernet LAN testing over OTU-2
The main difference between the two rates is that the 11.095 GHz signal fills the fixed-
stuff ( FS) bytes, as defined in the G.709 standard; where as the 11.049 GHz signal
does not utilize the stuff bytes.
