Y.1564 Performance Testing Overview
ITU-T Y.1564 defines a test methodology that may be used in assessing the proper
configuration and performance of an Ethernet network to deliver Ethernet-based
services. This out of-service test methodology was created so that service providers
may have a standard way of measuring the performance of Ethernet-based services.
The Y.1564 Service Configuration & Performance testing supports the following
features:
•
Bandwidth profile testing with CIR, EIR, and Traffic Policing testing capabilities
•
Supports Non-Color Aware modes
•
Supports the optional Y.1564 reordered and out-of-order frames analysis per test
flow
•
Supports Service Performance testing on up to 10 simultaneous services/test
stream flows
•
Each Service Configuration and Service Performance test can be optionally
enabled or disabled for testing
•
Independent test duration options for Service Configuration and Performance
tests
•
Includes both logical & physical IP Reflection loopback modes for redirecting test
traffic at the far end which is required for Y.1564 test configurations.
•
All user configured test profiles can be saved and restored for user convenience
The Y.1564 Perf Tests screen contains the following functions:
