Performance Monitoring provides greater detail about incoming Section, Line, Path, VT
and BIT errors.
The following options are available:

(Specifically for SONET testing)
The Section screen provides a detailed breakdown for Section errors detected and
logged by the SONET protocol processor.
The following statistics are reported:
Section Near End B1 Errors
•
CV - Coding Violations. Reports an error count of incoming B1 errors.
•
ES - Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming B1 errors in
seconds and the percentage of errored seconds compared to the duration of
error free seconds.
•
EFS - Error Free Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming B1 error free
seconds and the percentage of error free seconds compared to the duration of
errored seconds.
•
SES - Severely Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of Severely Errored
Seconds (SES) on the incoming SONET signal. An SES is reported when the
number of B1 errors per second equals or exceeds the Section SES
Threshold (see table below), or when a Severely Errored Frame (SEF) alarm,
Loss of Frame (LOF) alarm, or Loss of Signal (LOS) alarm is present.
