Protocol Tabs
1. From the SDH tab, select Perf Monitor.
2. Select M.2120 from the tabs along the left side of the Perf Monitor screen.
3. Select the desired performance event for an error type (for example, from the B2
error type, select the SES row). The Select Threshold dialog box appears.
4. Select TR15. A keypad appears.
5. Set the error threshold for the 15-minute evaluation period and choose OK.
6. Reselect the event row to display the Select Threshold dialog box and choose
RTR15.
Setting a RTR15 is optional.
7. Set the error reset error threshold and choose OK.
8. Reselect the event row to display the Select Threshold dialog box and choose
TR24.
9. Set the error threshold for the 24-hour evaluation period and choose OK.
Inserting Alarms
The system can transmit alarms to simulate various alarm conditions. One reason for
transmitting alarms is to determine if the receiving equipment can detect an alarm in the
incoming signal.
To insert alarms:
1. Select a protocol processor.
2. Select Transmit and choose Error Alarm.
3. Select Alarm Generated. The Select Alarm to Insert window appears.
4. Select an alarm. The system starts transmitting alarms.
To stop alarm transmission:
1. Select the protocol processor mode.
2. Select Transmit and choose Error Alarm.
3. Select Alarm Generated. The Select Alarm to Insert window appears.
4. Select Off. Alarm transmission stops.
