SDH Error/Alarm - Error Insert Rate
This Error Insert Rate function sets the error rate for the selected error to insert. The
system starts transmitting errors after the insertion rate is selected.
For more information about inserting errors, see
Tasks section of this chapter.
The following Error Insert Rate options are available:

Off
Bit 6 of the N1 byte is used for this error.
Only appears when the
configured for "HP Enable".
Generates a Tandem Connection Bit Interleaved Parity error
over the Lower-Order Path layer. Bits 1-2 of the N2 byte are
the BIP bits.
Only appears when the
configured for "HP Enable".
Generates a Tandem Connection Remote Error Indicator
over the Lower-Order Path layer between TCM equipment. A
LP-TC-REI is a count of LP-TC-BIP errors received by TCM
equipment at the far end. Bit 5 of the N2 byte is used for this
error.
Only appears when the
configured for "LP Enable".
Generates a Tandem Connection Outgoing Error Indicator
over the Lower-Order Path layer between TCM equipment.
Bit 6 of the N2 byte is used for this error.
Only appears when the
configured for "LP Enable".
Description
Turns error transmission off. This command effectively
disables the Error Insert Action button.
