Pattern Synchronization. Indicates a loss of pattern synchronization. This is an alarm
LED.
Paused Alarm
The total duration that the test has been Paused for.
Payload
Portion of the SDH signal available to carry service signals such as E1 and E3. The
contents of a Virtual Container (VC).
Payload Pointer
Indicates the beginning of a Virtual Container.
PCS
Physical Coding Sublayer
PCP
Priority Code Point. When referring to VLAN, this is a means of classifying and
managing network traffic and of providing Quality of Service (QoS) in modern Layer 2
Ethernet networks. It uses the 3-bit PCP field in the VLAN header for the purpose of
packet classification.
PDU
Protocol Data Unit. A packet comprising payload and protocol-specific control
information.
pFCS
Payload Frame Check Sequence (pFCS) field. The GFP Payload FCS is an optional
frame check sequence containing a CRC-32 sequence that protects the contents of the
payload information field. Also known as Payload Frame Checksum.
PFI
The GFP payload FCS identifier (PFI) is a 1-b field that indicates use of the optional
payload FCS. See also PTI.
PJCS
Pointer Adjustment Count in Seconds.
