OTN Transmit - OTN OH / TCM
The Transmit Optical Channel Data Unit (ODU) overhead bytes and messages can be
edited using three separate screens on the unit: ODU-A, ODU-B, and TCM.
The ODU overhead contains six Tandem Connection Monitoring (TCM) fields. The
following overhead bytes can be edited for each TCM field.

Nine bytes of the ODU overhead are reserved for future use.
These bytes are set to all zeros.
The RES-3 byte was replaced with the "PM and TCM"
byte for testing Round-Trip Delay measurements.
Two bytes of the ODU overhead are reserved for
experimental use.

Description
Selects a specific TCM field (TCM1 through TCM6).
One byte of the ODU TCM overhead is used to identify an
Error Detection Code signal, which is a BIP-8 signal.
The Backward Error Indication (BEI) and Backward Incoming
Alignment Error (BIAE) subfield is a four-bit signal sent in the
upstream direction to indicate that an error has been
detected.
The Backward Defect Indication (BDI) subfield is a single bit
sent in the upstream direction to indicate that a signal fail
