Start/Stop Test
The following list of tasks demonstrate how to configure and test each of the RFC-
2544 benchmark tests.
To Configure the RFC-2544 test settings see
To run an RFC-2544 Thru Put test see
To run an RFC-2544 Frame Loss test see

Displays the setting for the low-end of the bandwidth test
range.
The
BW Floor
is configured from the RFC Tests - Conf
screen.
Sets a packet loss rate threshold. The test fails if packet loss
exceeds this value. Valid values are 0-100%. The default is
0%, which means that even one lost packet is a failure.
Sets a level of precision for the test. The default resolution is
1%. The finer the resolution (for example, 1%), the longer it
takes to complete the test; the less precise the test (for
example, 10%), the faster the test completes but with less
accuracy.
Reports the test results. The following statistics are displayed:
Size - Indicates the transmitted test packet size.
Rate - Reports the passing rate (percentage) for the specific
packet size.
TX Packets - Reports the number of packets transmitted in
the stream for the frame.
RX Packets - Reports the number of packets received by the
test set.
Latency Min/Max/Avg - Reports how long it takes for the test
frames to traverse the network and return to the unit. The
values that appear are in milliseconds.
If the test set is looped to itself with a short patch cable, the
latency may appear as 0 ms.
Starts and stops the Through Put test. The button toggles
between Start (when a test is not running) and Stop (when a
test is running).
