RFC 2544 Tests - Screen Functions and Descriptions Overview
(Specifically for Fibre Channel SAN testing on the Packet tab)
For Fibre Channel, the only Performance Test option supported is RFC-2544.
The RFC 2544 Tests screen contains the following functions:

Conf
•
Thru Put
•
Frame Loss
•
Graph
The following list of tasks demonstrate how to configure and test each of the RFC-
2544 benchmark tests.
•
Bit Error (Stream #1) - Generates bit errors in the payload
•
CRC - Generates an invalid CRC error
Selects the error rate to be transmitted for the selected error type.
Once the error rate is selected, the system begins transmitting
errors.
Select one of the following:
•
1E-<x> - X is an exponential value from 2 to 10. Selecting
one of these sets the error rate to 1 x 10
exponential the higher the error rate.)
Code errors in Fibre Channel rates on the MPM-10G card do not support Error Rates
Fibre Channel Alarms are currently not supported.
