The VT Path screen displays a detailed breakdown of incoming Virtual Tributary path
BIP (Virtual Tributary BIP-2, also known as Coding Violations) errors and Virtual
Tributary Remote Error Indicator (REI-V) errors.
The following statistics are reported:
VT BIP Errors
CV - Code Violations. Reports an error count of incoming BIP-V errors.
ES - Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming BIP-V errors (in
seconds). This statistic also reports the percentage of errored seconds compared
to the duration of error-free seconds.
EFS - Error Free Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming BIP-V error
free seconds. This statistic also reports the percentage of error-free seconds
compared to the duration of errored seconds.
SES - Severely Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of SES on the incoming
SONET signal. An SES is reported when the number of BIP errors per second
equals or exceeds 600 errors per second, or when an LOS alarm, SEF alarm,
LOF alarm, AIS-L alarm, LOP-P alarm, AIS-P alarm, UNEQ-P alarm, UNEQ-V
alarm, AIS-V alarm, LOP-V alarm, or LOM-V alarm occurs.
UAS - Unavailable Seconds. Reports the number of seconds that the Path layer
was considered unavailable. A Path is considered unavailable when at least 10
consecutive Severely Errored Seconds occur.
VT REI Errors
CV - Code Violations. Reports an error count of incoming REI-V errors.
ES - Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming REI-V errors (in
seconds). This statistic also reports the percentage of errored seconds compared
to the duration of error-free seconds.
EFS - Error Free Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming REI-V error
free seconds. This statistic also reports the percentage of error-free seconds
compared to the duration of errored seconds.
SES - Severely Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of SES on the incoming
SONET signal. An SES is reported when the number of REI-V errors per second
equals or exceeds 600 errors per second, or when a VT Remote Defect
