Expected TC Trace
SONET Receive - Set / Set 3
Use the Set 1, Set 2 and Set 3 screens to configure the SONET Receive parameters.
Defines the Expected TCM Trace to be received on the
incoming SONET signal.
The TC Trace is part of the TCM Overhead (also known
as the TCM Trace), where the either the Z5 (Path) or Z6 (VT)
byte, depending on the TC Error/Alarm Processing setting, is
configured as a repeating 16-byte or 1-byte pattern that can
be configured as the system's default ASCII pattern, a
customized user-defined ASCII pattern, or a 1-byte
hexadecimal pattern.
The following Expected TCM Trace options are available:
Default (16 byte): Selects the default 16-byte ASCII
message as the expected trace pattern. The message
consists of 15 ASCII characters, appended with a
CRC-7 at the end of the message.
User Defined (16 byte): Selects a 16-byte user-
defined ASCII message as the expected trace pattern.
The message is entered and saved using a touch
screen keyboard. The user-defined message can be
up to 15 ASCII characters, appended with a CRC-7 at
the end of the message.
All 01's - Selects an All Ones (0x01) hexadecimal
pattern as the expected trace pattern. The 0x01 byte
value repeats indefinitely and does not contain CRC-7.
All 00's - Selects an All Zeros (0x00) hexadecimal
pattern as the expected trace pattern. The 0x00 byte
value repeats indefinitely and does not contain CRC-7.
User Defined (1 byte): Selects a user-defined
Hexadecimal byte value as the expected trace pattern.
The byte value is entered and saved using a touch
screen keypad (from 0x00 to 0xFF). The byte value
repeats indefinitely and does not contain CRC-7.
This function is used in conjunction with both the
Error/Alarm Processing
Reporting
function.
