The Path screen displays a detailed breakdown of incoming B3 (Path BIP-8, also known
as Path Coding Violations) and STS Path Remote Error Indicator (REI-P) errors.
The following statistics are reported:
Path - Near End B3 Errors
CV - Code Violations. Reports an error count of incoming B3 errors.
ES - Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming B3 errors (in
seconds). This statistic also reports the percentage of errored seconds compared
to the duration of error-free seconds.
EFS - Error Free Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming B3 error free
seconds. This statistic also reports the percentage of error-free seconds
compared to the duration of errored seconds.
SES - Severely Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of SES on the incoming
SONET signal. An SES is reported when the number of B3 errors per second
equals or exceeds 2,400 errors per second, or when an LOS alarm, SEF alarm,
LOF alarm, AIS-L alarm, LOP-P alarm, AIS-P alarm, UNEQ-P alarm is present.
UAS - Unavailable Seconds. Reports the number of seconds that the Path layer
was considered unavailable. A Path is considered unavailable when at least 10
consecutive Severely Errored Seconds occur.
Path Far End REI-P Errors
CV - Code Violations. Reports an error count of incoming REI-P errors.
ES - Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming REI-P errors (in
seconds). This statistic also reports the percentage of errored seconds compared
to the duration of error-free seconds.
EFS - Error Free Seconds. Reports the duration of the incoming REI-P error
free seconds. This statistic also reports the percentage of error-free seconds
compared to the duration of errored seconds.
SES - Severely Errored Seconds. Reports the duration of SES on the incoming
SONET signal. An SES is reported when the number of REI-P errors per second
equals or exceeds 2,400 errors per second, or when a RDI-P alarm is present.
UAS - Unavailable Seconds. Reports the number of seconds that the Path layer
was considered unavailable. A Path is considered unavailable when at least 10
consecutive Severely Errored Seconds occur.
