To determine if receiving equipment can detect an error on an incoming signal, you can
configure the system to insert specific errors and alarms into an Ethernet stream.
Note: Error insertion is disabled when IP Reflection Mode
is enabled.
To insert multiple errors:
1. Select the Packet tab.
2. Configure the
3. Enable traffic generation from the packet stream to be errored.
Important: Most error types require traffic generation to be
enabled on at least one packet stream.

To insert a single error:
1. Repeat steps 1 through 5 above.
2. If you want to clear any previously collected data, select Restart from the
common function button at the bottom of the screen before inserting the error.
3. Select the Error Insert common function button at the bottom of the screen.
4. A single error will be inserted every time the Error Insert button is pressed.
