1. Select Start Test. Once the test begins, this button toggles to Stop Test.
2. The unit immediately starts transmitting a test stream using the configured
parameters, starting with the smallest packet size. The packets are looped
through the network and returned to the unit. If no packet loss is reported, results
are posted for the first packet size and the unit starts transmitting a stream
containing packets for the next size byte frame. (For example, the first packet
size transmitted is 64-bytes followed by 128-bytes and so on.)
If packet loss is detected in a byte transmission, the stream is re-transmitted at a
reduced rate. This process continues until results are within the Resolution Rate
percentage.

1. The test set provides the option to save RFC Throughput, RFC Frame Loss, RFC
B2B Burst, and stream test Statistics, Settings, Event and Service Disruption
measurements to a file for access later or for immediate printing.
RFC-2544 - Frame Loss Testing
Frame Loss testing is an RFC 2544 benchmark test. Its purpose is to determine the
number of packets lost, by looping a stream through the network at varying transmit
packet rates. The Frame Loss screen allows you to select a specific packet size to use
in the Ethernet stream.
A Frame Loss test cannot be performed if another RFC Test is running.
Do not activate a BERT or Packet streams while an RFC 2544 test is active.
Turning on or off a test Stream, while an RFC test is in progress, will disrupt test
results.
To configure the Frame Loss test:
1. Select RFC Tests and choose Conf.
2. Select Stream ID and choose the packet stream (1 - 32) for the Frame Loss test.
3. Select Trial Duration and set the duration of the test.
4. Select Dest Port and choose the port that will receive the test signal.
5. Select BW Ceiling to set the high-end of the bandwidth test range. The RFC test
will not exceed the setting. Valid values are 1.1 – 100.
