Error Type
Error Rate

The following types may available, depending on the Interface
selected:
•
Bit Error (Stream #n) - Generates bit errors in the
payload for the specified stream number.
•
Block - Generates Block errors (only for 10G LAN and
10G WAN)
•
Code - Generates Line Code errors
•
FCS - Generates an invalid Frame Check Sequence
•
IP Checksum - Generates an invalid IP header checksum
•
Runt - Generates an Undersized frame with a bad CRC
(requires a Runt Size value)
•
Seq Error (Stream #n) - Generates Sequence errors in
the payload for the specified stream number.
•
Sync Header - Generates a Sync Header errors
•
UDP Checksum - Generates a UDP Checksum error type
(only for 400GE)
Selecting an error type will not send the error immediately but
will only select the type of error to be sent when the Send Error
button is pressed or when an Error Rate is selected.
Some of the errors listed above are only available when
Stream traffic is being generated.
Selects the error rate to be transmitted for the selected error
type. Once the error rate is selected, the system begins
transmitting errors.
Select one of the following:
•
1E-<x> - X is an exponential value from 1 to 10. Selecting
one of these sets the error rate to 1 x 10
exponential the higher the error rate.)
