1. Select RFC Tests and choose Conf.
The BW Ceiling and BW Floor settings do not apply to the Back-to-Back
Burst test.
2. Select Stream ID and choose the packet stream (1 - 32) for the Frame Loss test.
3. Select Trial Duration and set the duration of the test.
This value determines how long each trial runs. Valid values range from 2 to
10 seconds.
4. Choose the Packet Sizes to use for the test by selecting its Enable/Disable
check box. You can use standard packet sizes for the test or assign a user-
defined packet size(s).
To assign a user-defined frame size:
a. Select a Packet Size button (for example, 64). A keypad appears.
b. Enter a new value and select OK. Value ranges are 64 - 9600.
c. To return frame sizes to default settings, select the Restore to RFC
Standard Settings.
5. Select B2B Burst from the tabs along the left side of the RFC Tests screen.
6. Select Resolution (in frames). A keypad appears.
7. Enter a precision level for the test. The value is the number of frames in the
longest burst that the DUT will handle without the loss of any frames.
8. Select # Of Repetitions. A keypad appears.
9. Enter the number of times the trial length should be repeated. The RFC
recommended repetition is 50.
To start the Back-to-Back test:
1. Select Start Test. Once the test begins, this button toggles to Stop Test.
2. The unit immediately starts sending a burst of frames with the minimum inter-
frame gap between them. If all frames are received, the burst size is increased
and the test repeated. If all frames are not received, the burst size is lowered and
the test repeated until the longest burst the DUT can handle (without loss of
frames) is determined.
3. View B2B Burst test results on the
Frame Size (bytes) – Indicates the tested frame size.
Max Possible Number of Frames – Indicates the number of frames
transmitted without errors.
Avg Observed B2B Frames – Indicates the data stream's average frame
count.
