Checking tension and replacing auxiliary utilities belts
Checking the water pump drive belt tension
Check the belt tension when the engine is cool.
Remove the central flat undertray section (
Start the engine and run at idle speed for a few seconds.
Switch off the engine.

Place the frequency probe of the tension meter
(95978151) at the mid point of the lower
section of the belt, but without touching the
belt itself.
Tap the belt with a suitable tool near the tension
probe and check that the value read by the
meter is between 115 and 177 Hz.
Replace the belt if the frequency measured is
lower than the specified value.
