Configuring Internal IP Telephony
Requirements:
– VoIP channels (COMpact 3000 VoIP or VoIP channels purchased and activated in the
Upgrade Center)
Configure the PBX as follows:
1. Configure a VoIP channel as an internal VoIP channel for each internal VoIP
subscriber planned.
2. Create internal telephone numbers for the VoIP subscribers (a maximum of two VoIP
subscribers is recommended).
3. If necessary, assign user PINs for the VoIP subscribers (recommended). These PINs
are required for authenticating the VoIP telephones when they are registered on the
PBX.
Note: Do not use dates of birth or dates as PINs. This makes it easy for an
attacker to find out the correct PIN. PINs which are easy to guess, such as
111111 or 123456, should also be avoided.
4. Configure the VoIP equipment. To do this, you need the following information:
IP address or URL of the PBX
Internal number of the VoIP subscriber
The user PIN of the VoIP subscriber, if necessary
Note: Advice for configuring different VoIP telephones is provided on the
service portal at the Auerswald web site under FAQs (Internet address:
www.auerswald.de).
5. Check whether the VoIP subscriber was successfully registered on the PBX (overview
for Status internal VoIP subscribers).
6. If necessary, enable DiffServ in order to increase VoIP call quality.
