Firmware Update
Replacing Defective Firmware
Warning: Power surges, which can occur during electrical storms, can
cause life-threatening electric shocks
• Do not open the PBX during an electrical storm.
Important: This function requires performing the steps rapidly. Make sure
you are comfortable with the procedure before you begin.
1. Press the "Reset" button.
2. Press the "Default" button within 2 seconds and hold it down between 5 and 10
seconds.
The "Power" LED starts to quickly blink in red.
After a few seconds, the blinking of the "Power" LED will slow down.
3. Let go of the "Default" button.
The PBX restarts with the update image. In this state, the "Messages" LED lights up
in green, the "Line" LED blinks green and the "Power" LED is off. Telephoning or confi-
guration is no longer possible.
Important: If you release the "Default" button too late (the "Power" LED no
blinks slowly, but flashes), the PBX restarts in factory settings. You can
bypass this by keeping the button pressed for another 5 seconds until the
LED stops flashing.
Note: If you have accidentally start the update image, you can resolve this
by restarting the PBX. Press the "Reset" button briefly.
4. Enter the permanent IP address 169.254.1.240 in the address field of your browser
in order to establish access to the PBX.
Note: If the address in the network is not reachable, you need to connect the
PBX directly to a PC.
Instead of the configuration manager, a page opens that you can use to carry out a
firmware update or restore the previous state.
