Online Name Search
The online name search lets you accept names to put with existing telephone numbers via a
service provider on the Internet.

There are different ways of using the online name search:
Incoming calls
If a telephone number is transmitted during an incoming call, the entries in the telephone books
(PBX, system telephone) are checked and, if necessary, an associated name is displayed and
saved in the call data list.
If the telephone number transmitted is not found in the telephone books, the function attempts
an online name search of the name for the telephone number on a remote Web server that
offers a search service. If the server is accessible and the desired data is stored there, this infor-
mation is transferred to the telephone. The name is shown on the display of a system telephone
COMfortel 1100/1500/2500/2500 AB/VoIP 2500 AB and saved in the call data list.
Call data list
Clicking in the External name column (Ext. subscriber) of the call data list adds the name
to the call data set after the fact using the online name search function. The name can also be
verified and updated.

Switching Online Name Search On/Off

If online name search is enabled, the PBX attempts to obtain the missing name from the service
provider.
Switching this on/off can be done as follows:
• Via the configuration manager
Requirements:
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorization
– A configured DNS server and, if necessary, an HTTP proxy server
