Configuring External Internet Telephony
Requirements:
– VoIP channels (COMpact 3000 VoIP or VoIP channels purchased and activated in the
Upgrade Center)
– An account with a VoIP provider
– Configured internal subscribers
Configure the PBX as follows:
1. Configure at least one VoIP channel as an external VoIP channel.
2. Make sure you have current VoIP provider information:
• Check previously configured provider information.
• Download and import data from the Internet.
• Enter data manually:
Provider information
Network information
Codec selection
Number presentation (outgoing)
Conversion for incoming VoIP telephone numbers
3. Configure the DNS server and, if necessary, also an HTTP proxy server.
4. Create at least one VoIP account in the PBX and enter the account and access data.
5. Enter the country prefix and local area code.
6. Enter your own VoIP telephone numbers.
7. Set up call distribution (for incoming calls).
8. If necessary, enable DiffServ in order to increase VoIP call quality.
9. Check whether the registration of the VoIP account was successful (overview for
Status VoIP accounts).
Note: If no calls are possible via VoIP, although account registration and
perhaps even an initial call were successful, this might have something to do
with a very short timeout configured in the firewall. Reduce the Interval for
