Emergency Call Priority Switch
The emergency call priority switch enables an emergency call even if all of the lines or B-
channels are in use. In this case, the PBX interrupts an existing external call.
End Device
A general description for a device that can be operated on a communication network or on a
PBX, e.g., telephone, fax machine, answering machine, ISDN PC controller, etc.
Energy Savings Function (Economy Mode)
Economy mode provides the option of either switching off all of the LEDs on the PBX or
switching off all of the LEDs except for the "Power" LED. This is not lit constantly, but flashes
slowly.
Depending on the configuration, economy mode is enabled when the switches to a specific
configuration.
Ethernet
A network system with a speed of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s that was developed by the companies
INTEL, DEC and Xerox.
Exchange Line Authorization
The exchange line authorization detemines which type of telephone numbers can be dialled by
a subscriber (e.g., telephone numbers in the local telephone network).
Exchange Line Reservation
If a caller would like make an external call and all of the lines are in use, a line can be reserved.
As soon as a B-channel or an exchange line is available again, the caller's telephone rings and
a number can be dialled.
