Adding a Printer

Network Printer
A USB printer with the device class "printer" can be connected to the USB host on the COMpact
3000. Print jobs from computers on the same network are sent to the IP address of the
COMpact 3000. This is how the PBX takes on the function of a printer server.
Adding a Printer
On every computer that should use the network printer, the printer must be installed with a
suitable printer driver.
Note:
Multi-function machines (e.g., fax-scanner-printer combinations), printers
with a Graphic Device Interface (GDI) and most status monitors cannot be
used.
No call data printouts and direct charge printouts can be made with printers
connected in this way.
Only one printer is supported in the PBX at a time.
The following operating systems/operating system settings are supported:
• Windows XP/Vista/7 (Local, Standard TCP/IP port; Raw; 9100)
• Linux (HP JetDirect; IP address and port 9100)
• Mac (HP Jet Direct - socket, address: <ipaddr>:<port> )
Note: The following steps describe how to add a printer on the operating
systems, Windows XP, SUSE Linux or Mac OS X. If using another operating
system or one with significant differences to the basic settings, refer to the
documentation of your operating system.
Adding can be carried out as follows:
• A computer ready for operation and on the same network as the COMpact 3000
