VoIP/GSM Routing

VoIP/GSM Routing Sequence

VoIP/GSM Routing
VoIP/GSM routing is a PBX function that enables the subscriber to automatically make calls
using the most cost-effective connection. Before thinking about Least Cost Routing via various
public switched network providers, a decision needs to be made whether one of the VoIP
accounts or perhaps an existing public switched network or an existing GSM gateway should
be used for the upcoming call. A table with exception telephone numbers must be set up for this
and saved in the PBX.
VoIP/GSM Routing Sequence
VoIP/GSM routing proceeds as follows:
• A user dials an external phone number.
• The PBX checks whether the telephone number or telephone number range is entered in
the exception telephone number list and enabled for the current configuration.
• If the telephone number is found, the PBX automatically initiates the dial attempt via the
connection first selected.
• If the selected connection is busy when dialled, the next connection selected is attempted
(up to three are possible).
• After an attempt with the third connection, if no connection is established, the busy tone
issued.
Note: If a call is initiated over a targeted VoIP access point, VoIP/GSM routing
is not carried out.

The exception telephone numbers determine which connection should be used for attempting
to dial a telephone number.
Up to 400 exception telephone numbers can be entered.
The entry can be made as follows:
