Accessing the Network Memory via FTP

Accessing the Network Memory via FTP
Computers on the LAN can access the data on the USB storage medium via any FTP client,
an FTP-capable Internet browser or Explorer on the Windows operating system. All users have
the same permissions for reading and writing the data accessed.
A maximum of five simultaneous connections are possible.
Caution: Removing the storage medium from the PBX during operation
may lead to data loss. To remove the storage medium safely, you have the
following possibilities:
• Prepare to remove the storage medium properly (Eject under SERVICE
> Memory > Storage medium).
• Switch off the PBX before removing the storage medium.
Important: It is normally not possible to write to a file while accessing it from
an Internet browser.
Access can be carried out as follows:
• Via an FTP client (see the manual for the FTP client)
• Via an FTP-capable Internet browser
• Via Explorer on the Windows operating system
Requirements:
– PC and PBX on the same network
– Knowledge of the IP address on the PBX
1. Start an FTP-capable Internet browser (e.g., Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet
Explorer) or Explorer on the Windows operating system.
2. In the address field of the browser/Explorer, enter ftp://netstorage@ and the IP
address or URL on the PBX, e.g., ftp://netstorage@192.168.178.4.
3. Enter the password for the network memory saved in the PBX.
The "netstore" directory and its sub-directories on the USB storage medium are
displayed.
