negotiation of the fax protocol.
Variant 1: only one medialine for negotiation of the fax protocol (medialine for
automatic deactivation is omitted).
Further steps:
– Save your settings before you leave the page.
Configuring Codecs
The PBX provides various codecs. Codec selection affects the quality of a VoIP call. Depending
on the connection bandwidth, codecs with the best possible VoIP call quality down to codecs
with high compression (low bandwidth) can be configured.
The codec actually used for a call is not specified until the codec is negotiated with the VoIP
provider.
Note:
If using a codec with high bandwidth (e.g., G.711) produces too much inter-
ference in the call quality, it is possible that the connection bandwidth is not
sufficient. If disturbances occur often, it is a good idea to only select codecs
with lower bandwidth in the priority list (Sequence for Codec negotiation).
Not every codec is supported by every provider.
