Important Information
Intended Use
External S
Port (only COMpact 3000 ISDN or COMpact ISDN module available as an
0
option)
The external S
port is designed for the connection to an NT working according to the European
0
protocol DSS1 (Euro ISDN). It supports the following connection types:
• Basis access as a Point-to-Multipoint connection
• Basis access as a Point-to-Point connection
Furthermore, it is possible to connect to a digital GSM gateway.
External Analog Port (only COMpact 3000 analog)
The external analog port is tested in compliance with the former TBR21 standard and therefore
suitable for connecting public analog telephone networks across Europe. When using the inter-
national system variant, the country in which the PBX is operated over an analog connection
must be configured after the device has been put into operation.
Furthermore, it is possible to connect to an analog GSM gateway.
Ethernet Port
For configuration/administration, the Ethernet port can be connected to a separate PC or to a
local network (LAN).
For a CTI solution (LAN-TAPI), the Ethernet port can be connected to a local network (CTI
server and CTI clients). This requires CTI software. We recommend the following software
manufacturers:
• Estos (www.estos.de)
• ilink (direct.ilink.de)
The following telephones connected to the PBX are supported by the LAN-TAPI:
• COMfortel VoIP 2500 AB system telephone (as of firmware version 4.0B)
• COMfortel 1100/1500/2500/2500 AB system telephone (as of firmware version 4.0B)
• ISDN telephone
• Analog telephone
By means of an activation in the Upgrade Center (for a fee), the PBX can be extended by two
VoIP channels for internal and/or external use. The COMpact 3000 VoIP has one VoIP channel
for external use and one VoIP channel for internal and/or external use by default.
When using the VoIP channels externally, the Ethernet port can be connected to the Internet
via a router. The PBX supports two different types of VoIP accounts:
• VoIP accounts with one or more VoIP phone numbers (similar to the point-to-multipoint
connection on ISDN)
• VoIP accounts with a DDI number block (similar to the PBX connection under ISDN), based
on the SIP-DDI feature (also known as SIP trunking)
