Connecting the Ethernet Port with the Internet

1. Insert the end of the connection cable into the RJ-45 socket on the PBX (at the
COMpact 3000 ISDN (see below) or at the COMpact ISDN module (see the overview
of the COMpact ISDN module)).
2. Connect the PBX to the NT.
The following figure shows the position of the RJ-45 socket at the side of the casing
(COMpact 3000 ISDN), as well as the set up connection.

Important: If you would like to integrate the PBX into an existing network,
please contact the system administrator responsible for this. Making changes
to an existing network may cause considerable malfunctions.
Requirements:
– External VoIP channel (COMpact 3000 VoIP or VoIP channels obtained at the Upgrade
Center and enabled by it)
– Line lengths between the devices shorter than 100 m
– Patch cable
– Broadband Internet connection (e. g. DSL router, TV cable router)
– Existing network (LAN) with a recommended data rate of 100 Mbps
Note: For VoIP data communication in combination with the transmission of
limited amounts of data, a data transmission rate in the LAN of 10 Mbps is
sufficient under certain circumstances. For VoIP data communication in
combination with the transmission of large amounts of data (e. g.
downloads), we recommend upgrading to a data transmission rate of
100 Mbps. For this purpose, replace not only all of the active network compo-
nents (e. g. switch and router), but also all of the passive network compo-
