Configuring Transmission Amplification

Configuring Transmission Amplification
The transmission amplification indicates how many decibels the PBX increases all outgoing
audio signals.
This is necessary if the recipient perceives the audio signals to be too quiet (e.g., the volume
of the speech for an external communication partner).
The configuration can be made as follows:
• Via the configuration manager
Requirements:
– External analog port (only COMpact 3000 analog)
– Configuration manager, opened with sufficient authorization
– Expert view (click
– Configured prefixes (country prefix and local area code)
1. Open the page CONFIGURATION > External numbers.
2. In the list field at the top, select the analog connection.
A page opens for configuring the analog connection.
3. Open the page Analogue connection > Expert configuration.
4. In the Transmission amplification list field under General info, select one of the
following options:
0 dB to +12 dB: The PBX increases all outgoing audio signals by 0 to
12 decibels.
Further steps:
– Save your settings before you leave the page.

Switching Waiting for Dial Tone for a Line Connection On/Off

If waiting for dial tone is enabled, the PBX checks whether a dial tone is being transmitted from
the central office before it dials a telephone number.
This is necessary if the external dial tone generated by the central office is not transmitted until
after a long waiting period which results in the PBX initiating a dialling sequence that is too early
and causes incorrect dialling.
