Connecting the USB Printer and Storage Media to the USB Host

Printers and Storage Media
The USB host is suitable for connecting one of the following end devices:
• USB memory stick
• USB hard disk
• USB printer
Moreover, an SD card slot is available for the application of an SD or SDHC memory card.
Caution: Removing the storage medium from the PBX during operation
may lead to data loss. To remove the storage medium safely, you have the
following possibilities:
• Prepare to remove the storage medium properly (Eject under SERVICE
> Memory > Storage medium).
• Switch off the PBX before removing the storage medium.
Important:
The storage media used require an FAT16 or FAT32 formatting supporting
long file names.
COMpact 3000 analog and ISDN: The connection of a hub is not supported.
Note: The USB host of the COMpact 3000 VoIP has two sockets and is
suitable for connecting one printer and one storage medium.
Connecting the USB Printer and Storage Media to the USB Host
Requirements:
– Minimal distance between the devices
Note: The length of the USB cable used may be a maximum of 5 m in total.
Depending on the components you wish to connect, proceed as described in the following.
• Insert the USB memory stick into the USB socket.
