Remote Configuration and Alternative Connection Options
Configuring ISDN System Telephones Remotely via the External S
– Installed COMfortel Set configuration software as of version 2.5
– Knowledge of the user, sub-admin or admin PIN
– An existing external ISDN connection between the PC and the PBX over an Auerswald USB
device (e.g., COMfortel 2500) or an ISDN PC controller including the complete installation of
the drivers required for the device on the PC
Note: For an Auerswald USB device, this refers to the USB, the CAPI-2.0 and
CoNDIS-WAN drivers. To install the drivers, refer to the driver installation and
Internet access instructions (CAPI/TAPI) that came with the device.
– Release of the PBX immediately before remote configuration if no dealer access number has
been configured or the transmission of the configured numbers is not possible on the
computer being used
1. Start the COMfortel Set configuration software.
2. Open the menu Options > Interface....
3. In the Interface list field, select the ISDN card (CAPI 2.0) option.
4. Click OK.
5. Open the menu File > Open.
6. Click Telephone.
7. Enter the remote switching number for system telephones (including local city code
and exchange line access number), and click OK.
The Connection routes dialog opens with the devices connected via the configured
interface.
8. If necessary, double-click the PBX symbol to display all the connected system
telephones. Select the telephone whose configuration you would like to open and click
OK.
The PIN entry dialog opens.
9. Select the desired authorization level from the Authorization level list field.
10. Enter the associated PIN in the PIN entry field and click OK.
The configuration is loaded from the telephone. This may take a while.
11. Make the desired changes.
