Configuring the Outgoing Mail Server
1. Open the page FUNCTIONS > Voice mail/fax boxes > Settings.
2. Enter the address of the outgoing mail server in the Address entry field under
Outgoing mail server (SMTP). The following entries are possible:
IP address with a range of 0 to 255 (example: 114.188.1.125)
URL (example: www.smtp.de)
3. Enter the port number of the outgoing mail server in the Port entry field under
Outgoing mail server (SMTP). The following entries are possible:
1 to 65535
Note: In the factory settings, the port used by the outgoing mail server is set
to 25 by default.
4. In the Type of authentication list field under Outgoing mail server (SMTP), select
one of the following options:
No authentication: Disables authentication.
Password: Enables authentication via password.
MD5 challenge-response: Enables authentication via MD5 challenge-
response (MD5 = Message-Digest Algorithm 5).
Note: Your e-mail provider can give you the information which type of authen-
tication you should select.
5. Enter the user name in the User name entry field under Outgoing mail server
(SMTP). The following entries are possible:

6. Enter the password for the outgoing mail server in the Password and Password
(repeat entry) entry fields under Outgoing mail server (SMTP). The following
entries are possible:

7. Select or clear the Encryption (SSL) check box under Outgoing mail server
(SMTP).
Enables encryption via SSL protocol (Secure Socket Layer). The data is trans-
ferred via https.
Disables encryption.
