Use the
command to return to the upper-level directory.
cdup
# From the current working directory /new1, return to the upper-level directory.
sftp-client> cdup
Current Directory is:

delete remote-file&<1-10>

remote-file&<1-10>: Name of a file on the server. &<1-10> means that you can
provide up to 10 filenames, which are separated by space.
Use the
command to delete a specified file from a server.
delete
This command functions as the remove command.
# Delete file temp.c from the server.
sftp-client> delete temp.c
