16.14 How to Check the Fuse on the Board
The procedures for checking the fuse that is directly mounted on the board are described
below.
How to Check If Fuse is Blown
(1) Remove the board.
(2) Measure the resistance value across the leads of the fuse.
If the resulting resistance value is 100 Ω or greater, it is judged that the fuse has been
blown.

SUPPLEMENTARY NOTES
• It is impossible to accurately determine whether the fuse has been blown or not while the
board is installed in the machine. However, if the resistance value across the leads of the
fuse, while the board is installed in the machine, is 1 Ω or greater, it is likely that the fuse has
been blown. In that case, remove the board and check to ensure that the fuse has actually
been blown.
• For the tester, measure its probe resistance (resistance value observed when the probes are
shorted) before measurement, and make compensation as appropriate for the measurement
value of the fuse.
Action to be Taken When Fuse is Blown
Replace the board.
