Front left-hand driveshaft: Removal - Refitting
TL4
a Remove:
- the hub nut (3) using the (Rou. 604-01),
- the track rod end nut (4) .
a Extract the track rod end using the (Tav. 476).
a Remove the shock absorber base bolts (5) .
a Push the front left-hand wheel driveshaft from the
hub carrier by rotating the hub carrier.
a Remove the front left-hand wheel driveshaft from the
manual gearbox using the (Emb. 880) (6) fitted with
the (Tav. 1813) (7) .

a Remove the front left-hand driveshaft.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
a Always replace the left-hand differential output seal.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the new left-hand differential output seal (see
21A, Manual gearbox, Differential output seal:
Removal - Refitting, page 21A-6) .
a Engage the front left-hand wheel driveshaft into:
- the manual gearbox as horizontally as possible,
- the hub carrier.
a Refit:
- the shock absorber base bolts,
- the track rod end nut,
- the hub nut.
a Torque tighten:
- the shock absorber base bolts (180 Nm),
- the track rod end nut (37 Nm),
- the hub nut (280 Nm), using the (Rou. 604-01).
a Clip the following onto the base of the shock absor-
ber:
- the brake hose,
- the wheel speed sensor wiring.
III - FINAL OPERATION.
a Fill the manual gearbox (see 21A, Manual gearbox,
Manual gearbox oils: Draining - Filling, page
21A-2) .
a Refit:
- the engine undertray,
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the front left-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (MR 415, 35A, Wheels and tyres).
