Press the front and rear bearing cones on the drive

gear shaft until the bearing cones are flush with the

shaft shoulder.

Install the two snap rings into the grooves of the idler

Press a new bearing into the idler gear until it rests

solidly against the snap ring.

Section 21 - Transmission, Drivelines - Chapter 9

Install the spacer on top of the bearing in the idler

gear. Install a new spacer if damaged or worn.

Press the other new bearing into the idler gear until it

rests solidly against the snap ring.

Install the idler gear assembly into the pump drive
