Before pressing the shaft through the clutch plate
carrier, find the etch mark that was made in Step 170
on the rear end of the shaft and on the front face of
the rear clutch plate carrier.
NOTE: If a new part replaces an old part, make a
mark on the part that is in the same position as the
mark for the old part.

Assemble the clutch plate carrier as follows:
1. Install the front end of the rear clutch plate carrier
over the rear end of the shaft.
2. Align the mark on the rear end of the shaft with
the mark on the front face of the rear clutch plate
carrier before pressing the carrier over the shaft,
aligning the marks will align the oil holes in the
shaft with the oil holes in the carrier.
3. Press the carrier down on the shaft until the
carrier is against the snap ring.
4. Check to be sure that all the oil holes in the shaft
and carrier are aligned.
