Install the bearing snap ring.

Install the gear on the countershaft bearing cage.

Section 21 - Transmission, Drivelines - Chapter 6

Reach through the opening in the gear and install the

snap ring into the groove in the bearing cage.

NOTE: Make sure that the alignment pin located at the

end of the output shaft mounting flange is aligned with

the alignment hole as shown in the following step.

Apply petroleum jelly to the seal ring on the rear end

of the range transmission input shaft. Install the

range transmission input shaft into the housing.

Make sure that the rear bearing cone is resting in the

bearing cup.
