position does not answer or is busy, the Octel 200/300 prompts "Personal Assistance is unavailable.
Please leave a message at the tone for (name) or press zero for the operator."
It may be desired to direct some types of calls (i.e., certain trunk calls and/or calls to selected extensions)
immediately to Personal Assistance instead of offering messaging or calling options. For this application,
the Octel 200/300 may be configured to transfer unanswered calls automatically to Personal Assistance
extensions. As a further option, the Octel 200/300 may be configured to give the caller the choice of
overriding the automatic transfer and leaving a message. Refer to the Feature Description volume,
Customizing Mailbox Features chapter, for more information.
Direct Internal Call
A person can call the Octel 200/300 directly to enter a mailbox, send a Quick Message, or make a
network call. The Octel 200/300 recognizes these calls as internal and not forwarded since the display
shows the calling extension. The prompt spoken depends upon the attributes assigned to the mailbox COS
belonging to the calling extension. When calling the Octel 200/300, these choices are offered:

Forwarded Internal Calls
When one extension calls another and the call that is forwarded to the Octel 200/300, the SL-1 sends the
calling and called extension numbers. The Octel 200/300 answers the call and informs the caller the
extension is unavailable and offers options. If the calling extension is a valid mailbox number and the
caller leaves a message, the calling mailbox number is attached to the message. Therefore, when the
message is listened to, the caller's name is spoken before the message plays, even if the message was not
sent from within a mailbox. The message may be automatically replied to as well.

An important exception occurs in collocated systems: only the extension number, not the name, is
spoken.
