10.2.5 OCTEL 200/300 CONFIGURATION
This section describes the changes that must be made to the Octel 200/300 configuration for Adaptive
Integration for both message waiting indication and called party identification. These changes are made
by using the UPDATE program.
External Call Configuration. The Mitel PBX provides the Octel 200/300 with the trunk number of an
external call. The TRUNK GROUP Table enables the Octel 200/300 to process the call according to
which trunk group the call came in on instead of which port the Octel 200/300 answered the call on. This
means integrated ports do not need to be split. Examples of how this can be applied include the
following:
A different company greeting may be recorded for each trunk group.
-
External callers can have a different intercept position than internal callers.
-
A different intercept position can be defined for each trunk group.
-
Since the SX-100 and SX-200 Analog identify incoming calls by individual trunk number, individual
trunk numbers, not trunk group numbers, are used for Octel 200/300 TRUNK GROUP Table entries.
Refer to the Configuration volume, Trunk Group Table chapter, for more information.
Internal Call Configuration. Message waiting indication provides indication from the Octel 200/300
for phones equipped with message waiting indicators. Assign Octel 200/300 COS Attribute 9 to
extensions having these indicators. Do not assign COS Attribute 9 to extensions that do not have message
waiting indicators.
Called party identification provides several mailbox convenience features for direct internal callers, as
described in Called Party Identification Call Processing, in this section. Every Octel 200/300 mailbox
may use all of these features except the Personal Greeting Access feature, which is assigned by COS
through INFORMATION Table Index 25. Index 25 must be defined as YES to permit selected people to
access their personal greetings without entering their mailbox. This access is possible only when a person
is calling the Octel 200/300 directly from the extension associated with their mailbox.
To configure the Octel 200/300 with Adaptive Integration on a Mitel SX-100/SX-200 Analog, make the
following configuration changes using the UPDATE program.
