2. CONFIGURING THE Octel 200/300 FOR TEST
Before proceeding, make the following changes to the Octel 200/300 configuration. These
changes are temporary; they are required only for testing.
a.
Add a Octel 200/300 mailbox that has a mailbox number matching the extension number for
phone B. This mailbox is referred to as mailbox B.
b. Assign these attributes to the COS for mailbox B:

Attribute 15 — TRANSFER TO RINGING
c.
Add a second Octel 200/300 mailbox, that has a mailbox number matching the extension number
for phone A. This is referred to as mailbox A. No attributes should be assigned to the COS for
mailbox A.
d. Be sure that the ring-no-answer count specified by INFORMATION Table Index 7 for mailbox B
is small enough to be shorter than the duration specified by the Mitel SX-2000 Call Forward No
Answer timer for phone B.
3. DIRECT INTERNAL CALL TO THE Octel 200/300
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 processes a direct internal call correctly.
a.
From phone A, call the extension number for the Octel 200/300 access, that is, the access
number of the MIC ports' hunt group. Does the Octel 200/300 answer with, "To enter your
mailbox press pound. . . ?"
NO
b. Enter
4. INTERNAL CALL TO A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the Octel 200/300 correctly processes a call forwarded from a
ring-no-answer extension.
a.
Make sure phone B is on-hook.
b. From phone A, call phone B. Does phone B start to ring?
NO
c.
Do not answer phone B. After the duration specified by the PBX System Option for Call
Forwarding Don't Answer Time-out, does phone B stop ringing?
NO
d. After phone B stops ringing, does the Octel 200/300 respond with the prompt, "Extension EXT-B
is unavailable. Please leave a message at the tone. . . ?"
NO
e.
While still connected to the Octel 200/300, enter the mailbox number for mailbox B (this should
match the extension number of phone B). Does the Octel 200/300 respond with the prompt,
"Thank you. Just a moment. . ." and does phone B start to ring again?
