9. VERIFYING PORTS
This test verifies that all the PBX port extensions are connected to the correct the Octel
200/300 ports.
a.
b. Does the Octel 200/300 answer with "To enter your mailbox press pound"?

d. Call the same port extension number again. Go to step b.

10. CALLING A RING-NO-ANSWER EXTENSION
This test verifies that the server properly handles RNA calls.
There are three different types of calls to an RNA extension that may be sent to for secondary
answering.

The extension to be called (telephone C) must be RNA/Busy forwarded to the mailbox. Two
mailboxes must be configured:
MBX XXXX
Assign these attributes to the mailbox COS —
Attribute 15 — TRANSFER TO RINGING
Attribute 9 — MESSAGE WAITING LAMP ( MWI)
MBX YYY YYY must be a different mailbox number and COS then XXXX, but the extension

From telephone C, call the extension associated with port 1.

If the Octel 200/300 does not answer, the probable reason is that the PBX port
'
extension is connected to the wrong physical port. Correct the problem before
continuing.
On the terminal, at the @ prompt, enter the command PS. The port number in the IDL2 state
is the port that the Octel 200/300 thinks was called. If that is not the port you intended to call,
the lines should be changed so that the correct line is connected to the correct port.
Call the extension number of the next port. Go to step b.
Proceed until all ports are tested.
A call from an internal extension to an RNA extension.
This call should forward into through the PBX forwarding mechanism and play the
"unavailable" prompt.
The Octel 200/300 screened transfer to an RNA extension.
This call should be pulled back by the transferring port and play the "doesn't answer" prompt.
The Octel 200/300 Transfer to Ringing to an RNA extension.
This call should forward to the Octel 200/300 through the PBX forwarding mechanism and
play the "unavailable" prompt.
XXXX must be the same as the extension for telephone C.
number must be the same as for telephone C.
There should be no attributes assigned to its COS.
