SIC8 Link Modular Telephone Extensions
The SIC8 board supports eight links that are divided into two groups of four links each. Each group
supports 32 analog ports.
Octel's recommendation for call processing link requirements, based on total analog ports, is
Up to
16 ports — 2 links
24 ports — 3 links
32 ports — 4 links
40 ports — 5 links
48 ports — 6 links
56 ports — 7 links
64 ports — 8 links
Octel recommendation for message waiting requirements, based on total analog ports, is that there should
be an additional two links to support every 16 analog ports in a small message server environment. As the
message server size increases, the ratio of message waiting links required for ports can be reduced,
depending on messaging volumes and customer sensitivity to the speed with which lamps are turned on
and off.
For each M2616 modular telephone,
The overflow extension for each link must not be configured as an appearance on the M2616
-
modular telephone set.
The primary directory number assigned for each link must be a unique extension.
-
Each M2616 modular telephone requires an add-on key module for call processing. This module is not
required if the M2616 modular telephone is used for lamp message waiting only or is used for 10 ports or
less.
Octel 200/300
S.4.1
The Octel 200/300/M1 integration requires that the
Octel 200/300 ports be connected to their assigned
PBX extension numbers. This should be checked
during installation. Refer to Testing Requirements,
Step 2, EXTENSION NUMBER CHECK, in this
chapter.
