Considerations
Important Notes Regarding
the Mitel SX2000 DPNSS
Integration
PB60019-01
Appendix A Mitel SX2000 Integration (DPNSS)
The Mitel implementation of DPNSS does not use Message
Waiting Indication On or Off strings.
If MWI is done through the DTIC channel, the setting
for System Parameters 304 and 305 is 0.
Sometimes Mitel switches have a routine that turns all
message waiting indicators off at a specified time.
If this routine is used, set System Parameter 191 to
specify the hour that the message server should
reactivate indicators.
The Octel 200/300 ID number (System Parameter 306 and
313) MUST be the same as the Mitel PBX ARS number
used to access the Octel server.
Failure to do this may result in re−order tone or error
condition when using the Multiline Set "Callmeback
Message" feature to call the Octel server for message
retrieval.
If the Octel sever network is using Protocol 3 for the "Live
Network Call" feature, the transfer will always require two
channels.
The two channels are required for the two systems to
handshake, exchange Ids, and User table information.
The two channels remain in use until "Route
Optimization" has completed through the originating
PBX (approximately 20−30 seconds after the network
handshaking has completed).
If a server with DPNSS integration is configured to transfer
"live" calls using network protocol 3 to servers with MIC
cards, then the remote servers with MIC cards need to
ensure System Parameters 13 and 16 use FDE for Transfer
Initiate Codes.
Failure to do so may result in transfer failures to get dial
tone and complete the transfer. Transfers to an attendant
console at any remote location may require additional
time to look for dial tone. If the transfer still fails with
system parameter 13 and 16 set to FDE, then adjust these
parameters to FDDE to allow the transfer to complete.
